Safety Technology International President Margie D. Gobler to Retire
Safety Technology International announced that President Margie D. Gobler is retiring and current Vice President of Finance, Operations, and HR, Matthew Daniels, has been appointed by the Board of Directors to fill the position of President, effective February 1, 2021.
Margie, who succeeded her father John (Jack) D. Taylor, the Founder of STI, as President in 2002 will remain in an advisory capacity pending her retirement effective March 31, 2021. Margie Gobler, along with Lori Lynn Taylor and John F. Taylor, will continue to serve as members of the Board of Directors following Margie’s retirement.
As a member of the STI management team from the inception of the company, Margie D. Gobler has played a key role in STI’s development. It was she and her father, John (Jack) D. Taylor, who started STI more than four decades ago. After attending Central Michigan University and obtaining an Associate Degree from Oakland Community College, Margie graduated from the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School. When Jack retired, Margie took the responsibility of becoming the company’s president and one of the owners.
Matthew Daniels brings over 20 years of experience in manufacturing to his new role as STI’s president. A graduate of Walsh College, Matthew completed his Bachelor’s in Accountancy with honors, Masters of Business Administration, and obtained his CPA license. After quickly maneuvering up the corporate ladder and gaining experience in many aspects of business, Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge, ideas, and excitement into this new milestone. With his commitment and drive, Matthew looks forward to working with the Board of Directors and helping STI continue to grow and progress in the fire, access control and security industry.
